We asked our PR team what their highlights of 2013 were and what they are looking forward to in 2014. Read what they have to say below.
Carolyn Hughes
What has been your highlight of 2013?
Well, it would be obvious to say that going to Marrakech for our annual off-site trip was an amazing highlight and Christmas treat – but it’s totally true!
At home, I think I would have to say hanging out with my two young sons, who cause more mess than I ever thought possible, but luckily they’re pretty cute :0)
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
We have some great clients and have won some very exciting new PR and social mediaclients here at Fourth North just in the last couple of months. So 2014 is going to be really busy but I am genuinely excited to get stuck into the work and see some great results.
Fourth North has grown pretty quickly in 2013 – particularly in technology PR – so we’re expecting our team and clients to carry on expanding next year.
Other than that, I’m looking getting in a holiday abroad if I can face getting on a plane with children in tow.

What has been your highlight of 2013?
It would have to be growing the Manchester office by 40% in the past twelve months and working with some fantastic clients. In addition to that, it’s celebrating a significant birthday with the people I love most in the world.
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
I’m looking forward to building on what we’ve done this year, by focusing on delivering the best service and results that we can for our clients. We will also continuing to develop the services we can offer across all three offices.
At home I’m looking forward to family time, holidays and trying to convince my other half that we need a dog.

What has been your highlight of 2013?
One of the highlights of last year for me was doing some work with the arts sector.
Firstly, we ran a PR project for the one-week run of a play for a small London theatre group and managed to secure interviews for the company on BBC World, Radio 2 and Radio London prior to the performance.
We also supported a group of young actors and directors who were staging a courtroom drama in a disused courtroom in Blackfriars by inviting our legal clients and friends to see the show and staging a question and answer session after the show with the cast, along with prominent human rights barrister Leslie Thomas
The other big highlight of the year was Nikki’s birthday party, obviously.
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
Everything. 2014 is going to be a great year for Fourth Day London –superlative customer service, high rate growth and everyone here having a lovely time.

What has been your highlight of 2013?
A particular highlight for me last year was being taken on as an intern with the Fourth Day team in Manchester.
Surprising myself (and all who know me) by deciding to do a skydive was also a definite highlight of 2013!
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
I’m looking forward to the next couple of months in Manchester, developing my skills as a PR intern further, and working with some new clients in the theatre world. I also hope to be living in Manchester by 2015.

What has been your highlight of 2013?
One of the biggest highlights at Fourth Day this year was our annual offsite trip. This year we went further afield and headed to Marrakech which was absolutely amazing. It was a great opportunity to reboot and we really took the meeting out of the board room – if we weren’t brainstorming on the rooftop of our riad, we were doing some team bonding during a camel trip in the desert – fantastic!
I moved into a new flat in February and it’s been really good fun if a little dangerous considering how close I am to such nice bars! Summer was really good (again lots of bars, beer gardens and festivals) and I’m loving being so close to the Christmas markets now that it’s started to look all festive.
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
We’ve won some fantastic new clients this year so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and executing some of the campaigns we’ve got lined up after a little break over Christmas. I help out with some of the PRCA events in the North West too and we’ve got some exciting events lined up in the new year that should be good.
Working hard and playing hard! Manchester’s such a good night out. My resolution is to go and see more theatre.

What has been your highlight of 2013?
My work highlight was running workshops for a number of clients and community organisations. Additionally, my personal highlight in 2013 was meeting my family in California to take my niece and nephew to Disneyland for the first time.
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
I hope to have the chance to work with more local businesses in 2014. I’m also looking forward to spending time with family and friends and travelling to new places.
